Survival Instinct by Janie Crouch

The Fine Line by Alicia Kobishop

Synopsis: High school senior Liv Evans has one rule: No attachments. She’s lost enough in her life and has vowed to do whatever it takes to make sure she never again feels the emptiness of losing someone she loves. Boys are a fun distraction, but a serious relationship is something she’d rather live without. Her determination for a future free of pain and heartbreak is put to the test when she meets–and quickly forms an unexpected bond–with Logan Tanner.

Logan has always been a free spirit, but ever since a life-changing event took place, which left him doubting the integrity of those who are closest to him, he’s taken that term to a whole new dangerous level. Learning the hard way that life is too short for worries or work–and that women can’t be trusted–Logan has exchanged steady work for street racing. When Liv walks into his world, everything he thought he knew about life and women is challenged.

In The Fine Line, Liv and Logan will discover if it’s possible for true love to have a future, or if history is destined to repeat itself.

Review: Wow! I just went through a roller coaster ride of emotion on this one. For a debut novel, THIS IS REALLY AMAZING!

I have a very high expectation on this one, and let me tell you, it did NOT  disappoint. I love every page of it!

The story is on Olivia's (Liv) POV. I have to admit that Liv really annoyed me at some parts. She's just so freakin' stubborn, a little thick headed and she act on impulse. She doesn't think things thoroughly. But then again, who could blame her. She's like traumatized. She feels like everybody will disappoint her, like everybody will leave her.

Liv is happily living her life cautiously trying not to get too attached to people (except for her BFF Mel) but then, BAM! Logan enters her life. Ah, Logan.. A bad boy racer with a heart melting eyes, what's not to love? Totally swoon worthy!

Logan isn't your typical alpha guy. He may come as cocky and flirty but he's also patient and caring. He's used to girls falling all over him and just like Liv, he doesn't do relationships.

And here's where the friendship begun. Friendship that they're both afraid to screw up. But nothing can deny that their friendship is slowly changing into something more.

Now this is the part where I want to jump inside the book and shake or slap Liv so much. She's just blocking out her feeling and it's too much! To the point that she almost lose it all. YES, Logan did some stuff too (hurtful stuff) but honestly, it's all Liv's fault. I feel like Liv doesn't deserve Logan sometimes. I won't get through all the details but I suggest that you buckle because their way into a happy and stable relationship is one heck of a ride.

All the characters are well-written and I found it easy to connect with them. Easy, fast-paced and addictive. I can't wait to read more of this Author's work.
