It's that time again...

Time to show off my goodies. ;)

It's been a while and I know I've fallen off the wagon, but we're starting fresh for 2013.

This week I was lucky enough to receive this jewel from HarperCollins. I'm super excited because it's being marketed as a Sci-Fi Thriller and I have to say that I love me some Sci-Fi!

Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza

Synopsis: Mila was living with her mother in a small Minnesota town when she discovered she was also living a lie.

She was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was never supposed to remember the past—that she was built in a computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.

Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much, and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology.

Evading her enemies won't help Mila escape the cruel reality of what she is and cope with everything she has had to leave behind. However, what she's becoming is beyond anyone's imagination, including her own, and that just might save her life.

Gallery Books sent me these two lovelies:

Forbidden Sister by V.C. Andrews

Mystery and Suspense? Count me in! :D

Synopsis: Emmie Wilcox was only six when her older sister, Roxy, was thrown out of their New York City apartment. Their stern father’s military-style rules left no room for rebellion, and Roxy was continually defiant and rebellious. Emmie, now an outstanding student at a private school, is obedient, respectful, a fille parfaite, as her Parisian-born mother lovingly calls her.

Two sisters, total opposites—yet Emmie is secretly obsessed with the mystery and imposed silence surrounding Roxy: What had she finally done to deserve being cast out of her home? Where is she now? Emmie can’t help but wonder if there is a hidden side to her that resembles Roxy’s defiant nature.

Sometimes she fantasizes that she is more like Roxy than she appears. Sometimes she wants to be. She wants excitement, and being a good girl all the time is harder than it seems. Finally learning that Roxy is a highly paid escort to wealthy and powerful men, Emmie goes behind her father’s back to track down and spy on the sister she can’t help but be fascinated with, a sister whose influence might run deeper than Emmie ever dreamed.
Heart of Ice by P. J. Parrish

Synopsis: Louis Kincaid finally has a few days to get to know the daughter he didn’t even know existed until a few months ago. He’s taking ten-year-old Lily on a trip to Michigan’s enchanting Mackinac Island. The picturesque Victorian island is getting ready to close down for the season, but Louis hopes to forge a relationship with Lily that will last forever. But when Lily takes a fall onto a pile of old bones in an abandoned hunting lodge, the vacation’s over.

When the island’s inexperienced police chief asks for Louis’s help on what turns out to be a stone cold case, he reluctantly agrees. His reluctance only grows when he discovers the state investigator is Norm Rafsky, who had worked with Louis’s girlfriend Joe Frye fifteen years ago.

So what did you guys get? Feel free to brag and pimp those books!

When Joe returns to the island to help, she and Louis must confront the simmering tension between her and Rafsky, and yet stay focused on finding a dangerous killer who may still be in the area…
