Q/A with Author Raine Miller

Thursday, November 15, 2012

I'm excited to say that today we have Author Raine Miller of The Blackstone Affair
series here for a Q/A. Her second book in the series, "ALL IN," was just released! I highly recommend diving into this series.

It's fantastic! Enjoy our Q/A session with Ms. Miller.
What inspired you to write Naked?  A stock photograph I found on Shutterstock that is on the cover of Naked.  I just got the image in my head.  What if you were a nude model...and met the man who bought your portrait?
Is the Blackstone Affair going to be a series?  It is a series of three books.
What made you set the story Naked in London?  I love London and have been there several times.  The Olympics were just getting ready to start and I wanted to do something very contemporary.
Who are some of your favorite authors?   JR Ward, Elizabeth Hoyt, John Grisham, Jane Austen, John Keats
Which character was the most difficult to write?  Definitely Ethan.  Writing an entire book from a man's head is not easy.  All In (Part 2) is completely Ethan.
What was your favorite scene to write in Naked?  The wall sex in Brynne's flat when he brings her home from clubbing.  *blushing*
Do you have any current projects you are working on? Can you share a little about them?  I am finishing up Blackstone Part 3 and then I'll go into The Rothvale Legacy which is the spinoff from Blackstone about Gabrielle and Ivan.  I am excited to do that story.  Ethan and Brynne will still be around too which is nice.  I also have a historical series about Ivan's ancestor, Graham Everley...the artist Tristan Mallerton is in those books and the painter of Lady Percival and other paintings you will learn about.
What advice would you give to someone who would like to become a published author?  You have to love to write and be willing to give up TV and the stuff you did before you wrote.  LOL  Seriously, all I do is write now.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?  Hmmmmm...I don't write sequentially.  I jump all around and write endings, and beginnings and sex scenes first, then go back and fill in later.
If you could be a character in any book, who would you be?  Jane Whitcomb, M.D. from Lover Unbound by JR Ward.  Why you ask?  SHE GETS TO BE WITH VISHOUS!

 <3 Raine
