Just One Night, Part 1: The Stranger by Kyra Davis

Tuesday, November 27, 2012
Kasie knows who she’s supposed to be. But one passionate night with a mysterious stranger will teach her who she wants to be. You should sleep with a stranger, her best friend whispers in her ear as they take to Vegas for one last pre-wedding fling. Despite her best intentions, when Kasie Fitzgerald enters the casino and sees him, a man whose tailored clothes belied a powerful, even dangerous, presence, she loses herself to the moment. Maybe it’s the dress, much shorter than she’d ever normally wear, or the Scotch, but something makes her give herself over to him more completely than she's ever done with a man before.

It was supposed to be just one night. But right as she’s thinking she wants more, he shows up in her office with an agenda. As the billionaire CEO of a company that’s engaged her PR firm, his demands just became her reality...and he desires so much more than just some attention in the boardroom.

Review: Wow! Just One Night, Part 1: The Stranger is a refreshing and deliciously new erotic romance filled with plenty of drama. This story just sucks you in right off the bat. You can’t help but feel enraptured with Kasie’s situation. I really enjoyed the balance of part 1. While there were plenty of steamy scenes, they didn’t over crowd or take away from the storyline. You can’t help but almost feel like you’re in Kasie’s shoes. Davis has a way with words even her prose had a unique way of conveying the confusion of the attraction, and chaos going on and around the main character. I was pleasantly surprised in such a short amount of time I felt drawn to the main character. I loved that although there’s a love story building within the background, this novel also really depicts the inner struggle of finding yourself, in relationship that no longer fits you. I also appreciated that as a reader we get a very tangible flaw within Kasie. Yes, there’s a slight hint to Kasie’s many secrets and a past, but we don’t get this very cliché dark past with the main heroine or love interest. After reading so many stories mimicking the plot of Fifty Shades of Grey, this story is so refreshing and welcomed! Overall, I was overly impressed with the story and the eloquent writing style. My only complaint would be that unfortunately you’re left on a cliffhanger. So Ms. Davis please hurry! I eagerly await part 2.
