(TOUR) Flight By Alyssa Rose Ivy (The Crescent Chronicles, Book 1 )

Sunday, October 14, 2012
Synopsis: Sometimes you just have to take flight.

A summer in New Orleans is exactly what Allie needs before starting college. Accepting her dad’s invitation to work at his hotel offers an escape from her ex-boyfriend and the chance to spend the summer with her best friend. Meeting a guy is the last thing on her mind—until she sees Levi.

Unable to resist the infuriating yet alluring Levi, Allie finds herself at the center of a supernatural society and forced to decide between following the path she has always trusted or saving a city that might just save her.

Review: I loved the premise of this story and it was hard for me to resist picking up this book. Like Alyssa I am very much in love with Nawlins' and I found it enchanting that the author gave the setting so much life. It really felt like I was back in the Big Easy. Allie is a fun and easy-to-love character. I found myself rooting for her even though she kept telling herself that she'd sworn off men. The supernatural element to this story was definitely a plus. I loved that the author took a new twist with another supernatural creature and gave the story something new, because lets face it, many writers have done the whole vampires in New Orleans.

I can't say to much without giving it away, but I definitely loved Levi. He was gorgeous, playful and such a big tease. Poor Allie, I don't think she ever had a chance. Lol he was much too hard to resist. I also really liked Jess! I think every girl wishes she had a confident friend who knows how to party. Overall I found Flight a great read. If you're looking for some dark urban fantasy that's New Adult, I would definitely recommend this one. I've read Alyssa Rose Ivy's book Beckoning Light, so this was definitely not my first read from this author, nor will it be my last!

Author Bio: Alyssa Rose Ivy lives in North Carolina with her husband and two young children. Although raised in the New York area, she fell in love with the South after moving to New Orleans for college. After years as a perpetual student, she turned back to her creative side and decided to write.
