Storm (Elementals #1) by Brigid Kemmerer

Monday, July 16, 2012
Synopsis: Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys - all the ones she doesn't want. Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They're powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life's at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who's hiding the most dangerous truth of all.

The storm is coming.

Review: First of all let me say that, I loved this story. Who wouldn't love a story with five hot guys in the middle of it! Storm was one of those books that was just so easy to fall into. The characters were complicated, fun and real. Becca definitely has some interesting issues going on in her life. At the beginning we meet her after she's just finished taking a self-defense class,  not more than five minutes after she ends up saving Chris one of the four (super hot) Merrick brothers' life. Chris and his brother are Elementals, (Michael the oldest being the only PURE elemental), but with their elemental abilities come grave consequences. Kemmerer does a fantastic job at bringing to like this story. I loved that although these four brothers have these supernatural abilities, they come with a cost which in turn really complicates things. Hunter is my favorite love interest in this book and I was a bit disappointed by the ending, but I'm happy to hear that Kemmerer has plans for him in some upcoming books. Overall, I really enjoyed STORM, although I did have a couple of problems with the ending but I'm hoping Kemmerer really fleshes them out in the next book. I definitely plan on reading the following books in the Elemental series and I would HIGHLY recommend STORM it was awesome!
