Synopsis: He's not her brother, but Duncan thinks Catherine sure needs one. A woman has no business trying to run a ranch. Not in 1880s Creede, Colorado. Even though she's loved him forever, she swears she doesn't need his help, but in between stampedes, fires and a kidnapping, the ex-bounty hunter and gunslinger becomes determined to do more than protect the ranch. Working together to catch a dangerous outlaw might just be the best thing that ever happened to them both.
Review:  Tame a Wild Heart by Cynthia Woolf is a historical romance set in Colorado in the 1880s. I enjoyed reading Woolf's romantic western but overall I felt that there were several missing pieces to the story. The beginning of the novel felt abrupt and choppy at times. I found it interesting that Catherine and Duncan had some prior history with one another but I felt like Woolf could've played it up a little more. I think it would've helped with the intimate moments between the two characters. As a reader I kind of felt thrown into the middle of the relationship from the beginning and at that point, I had no reason to care or desire for the two characters to be with one another. I do think Woolf did a great job with the book's overall tone and setting. The story line is good, I just think it needs some minor work. Overall, I enjoyed reading Woolf's Tame a Wild Heart, romantic westerns are my favorite.
